“In November 2011, CRY held its first Siblings Bereavement Support Day.
For all the bereaved siblings who attended that day, it was a revelation…this was what we had been missing. At last we were with group of people who came as close to understanding what we felt as anyone could possibly do. Previous support days had been focused on parents or partners and although everything helps, losing a sibling is just something so hard to explain to and talk about with anyone who has not been in that position.
On that day, Alison came up with the idea of putting together a booklet telling our stories and offering support to other bereaved siblings who also didn’t know where to turn.
And so here we are, just over a year later, launching the booklet and the accompanying website which we hope will provide you with practical information and show you where you can find support, along with a chance to read similar experiences, and come away with the feeling that you are not alone”
